The slurry industry has specific requirements when it comes to valves due to the corrosive and abrasive nature of the slurry particles and the subsequent wear on valve liners and discs.
GEMÜ Africa, has launched the company’s new butterfly valve specifically for use in the slurry sector. The valve offers a stainless steel disc and a polyurethane (PU) liner, both of which enhance the lifetime of the valve. Traditionally knife-gate valves have been seen as the solution for applications in the slurry sector, but the GEMÜ butterfly can be controlled more accurately.
The valves are competitively priced and the company offers full technical and spares support and free on-site trials, as well as access to global research and new technological development. All valves come with a standard warranty and accessories such as electrical position indicators and actuators. Manual or pneumatic/electrical actuators or gear box actuators are available for bigger sizes.
GEMÜ also offers a more traditional diaphragm valve also specifically manufactured for slurry use. A removable PU liner eliminates the need to replace the entire valve, offering savings to the user through reduced downtime and replacement costs.
